"Give the gift of a second language"
I recently discovered the Habbi Habbi Reading Wand & Bilingual Books (Available in English-Mandarin & English-Spanish) – and have to say that I fell in love. Their Reading Wand is so simple to use – just turn on and tap. Every inch of their books is tappable (not just the text), and the Wand helps the books come alive, enables independent play for kids, and opens a bilingual library to non-native families!

While the technology of the Wand is so important to helping the books come alive, I love that for the child, the physical books are the centerpiece. They are beautiful books – beautifully designed, hardcover, durable board books – so they withstand play from young kids. Additionally, the content in the books is practical and intentional. It doesn’t just cover vocabulary; it highlights topics and messages parents want to share with kids. (“Mommy is one of the few women in her field.” “Daddy and I are so proud of Mommy.”)

Finally, I love that it’s a small business that has a lot of heart behind it. The two moms who created it have a great pedigree (Harvard, Stanford, Princeton) and left their corporate jobs to make a product they love. And it shows. You can feel it watching their 2-minute introduction here.
Can’t wait for the release of their new titles (e.g. I am Kind, Book of Family, Foodie Friends) and to see what else Habbi Habbi comes up with!
